Welcome one and all as the season nearly comes to the end (some might say not quick enough!) we have had more ups and downs than Guy’s Ladbrokes account ……Thank you to the 11 members that attended this month’s meeting.

Not a great deal to discuss as all remaining games are as good as sorted. If you owe for the Villa game please get your money in ASAP…£65……..

Thank you to everybody that has helped the club out this season i.e. driving the bus , dealing with the web site , sitting on the computer getting tickets screaming at that bloody circle while you wait in the queue(!),getting the beers in or the coffee – well done and thanks.

News from North Devon Spurs

We will be taking 2 buses up to the Aston Villa game. Thanks to Lisa and Kevin for driving and will be leaving at 7 am sharp…..
Still in the pipeline is Stoke away we have 15 tickets. If you have applied for one can you get your £40 in ASAP as Giles has stuck these on his credit card …THFC have said they will pay for the transport and fuel….

A.G.M Thursday 5th June 2014

The big one of the year people where we will be electing or re-electing Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary. Please try and attend as we need some input and ideas to keep the club going. We have a healthy membership of 67 and want to keep it rising… also a total up of the club funds.

On the night we will be awarding our Oscars to the Mini bus driver or drivers of the year and the winner of our North Devon Spurs Telegraph Fantasy Football which has been well supported.

Welcome back one and all for another season nearly upon us. Welcome also to the new members that have joined North Devon Spurs.

Thanks to the 15 members that attended this months meeting (apologies for my absence)- great turn out.The club are attending the first home game of the season v Swansea where we will be leaving the Square in Barnstaple at 8am–S.Molton 8.15–J27 8.45 (thanks to Lisa for driving…..she shoots to the top of the drivers league table). With 11 members going, at the present time there is 1 space left on the bus.

GAME ON !!!

We are going to apply for all the Cat A games via THFC with 15 Tickets each time,a case of see how we get on with that one.

We have sorted games out up till December which involves all the Cat A games £70 and Newcastle Cat B £65 and possibly Hull at home Cat c £60 Also Aston Villa away and Cardiff away where the plan is to go on Saturday and stay the night before the game ..anyone interested in any one of these games contact me or Giles.Also any other games of interest not listed let Giles know.

BBQ At The Green Man Pilton

We are hoping to arrange a BBQ for the first game of the season against Palace…watch the game (KO 1.30) and eat after; the club will be paying for the BBQ and putting an amount over the bar….But we need a minimum of 15 people so please can you let me know if you wish to eat and if you have any dietary needs !!….please don’t leave it too late though!! (Tues 13th Aug cut off date)

Fantasy Football (Daily Telegraph)

We will also be setting up a Fantasy Football League with a prize at the end of the season. Once it is set up I will forward the details on the North Devon Spurs Site. It’s nice and easy and a bit of fun for the bragging rights at the end !!!

MINUTES FOR MEETING

1.The committee will be as last year with the posts as on the "About" page of this site.

2.Travel prices to games will stay the same Cat A £70-Cat B £65- Cat C £60.

3.Membership prices for NDSSC will also stay the same ,£10 for adults £15 for 1 adult and as many children under 16 in same household…children under 16 £5.

4.Club funds…..we have £ 1053.22 in our account.

5.Club donation… we have decided to give to 4 charities this year; firstly we will be giving Clint Rance £100 for his chosen charity Action Medical Research – good luck on the bike ride …second £50 toAshley Braunton to the North Devon Hospice on his marathon run..thirdly £50 to Steve Bennett on his Sky Dive also for North Devon Hospice and again we will be donating £50 to Ilfracombe youth fc – good luck everyone.

LEDLEY KING TROPHY

Only 2 tickets became available at the very last knockings when it was confirmed very late that Ledley King was available to do the Q&A session …Guy and Giles left at 5.30am and returned same day. Awesome training ground – what we saw of it an got to present NDSSC trophy to the man who was very grateful.. hopefully we will get more tickets next year and someone else can enjoy the experience..(Thanks to Clint for having a word ) we had a write up in the Gazette and will be in the Journal Thur 13th also.

WHO WANTS TO PLAY AT W.H.L ?
Yes that’s right who fancies treading on the sacred turf next May to coincide with the Supporters Club Awards ,where there is going to be a tournament between the 32 Supporters clubs in this Country/Britain on the following Monday of the awards and the last game of the season.. To play at White Hart Lane don’t know if it is 11 a side or 7 or whatever we will wait with bated breath!!!!!

Many thanks to the 14 members that attended this months meeting and to watch the Basel game-and also for the season.

We had 9 members that attended the Everton game ……we also have a bus load for the Southampton game which will be leaving the Square in Barnstaple at 7.30 am and for the last game of the season we have 2 bus loads for the Sunderland game where we will be leaving at 7.30 am – both 3pm ko to date. 1 bus could be going up a day early to attend the Supporters club awards (see below)

LEDLEY KING TROPHY

We have been in touch with THFC with regards of presenting our trophy to the man and our only chance is if Ledley attends to do a Q&A session at the Supporters club awards (venue unknown yet) then we will be allowed to present him personally at the awards which will be a good buzz…so going back to the previous chapter if this is the case then 1 bus for the Sunderland game will be going up a day early and staying overnight so if you fancy this please let me know …at this moment we have 11 people interested.

As soon as I hear back from THFC we will get the ball rolling but if you commit to it please realise you are paying for somewhere to stay the night and to attend the awards where there will be at least 3 or 4 first team players in attendance ..having attended one before don’t expect to have photos done and get autographs as they tend to cut and run once the awards are done. It is still a good experience though .

AGM MEETING 2013

The next meeting on Thursday June 6th will be the yearly meeting where the committee will be decided for the coming year. If anybody fancies any of the positions please feel free to stick your hand up-going to the Dentist is worst (honest).

Ledley King Trophy

We are now in possession of the trophy we hope to present to the man himself and it is a stunning trophy,it is the size of a actual regulation football with the engraving as follows…..

Many thanks to Steve Bennett for sorting this from where he works at Dartington Crystal where they have not charged us a penny for the trophy which is worth in the excess of £900 ..Great gesture..Dartington have the trophy at the moment due to trying to get the F.A to seek their services in supplying them with trophies and using it as a example. All we have to do now is persuade THFC to allow us to present it and give Dartington Crystal a good plug as well.

Next Meeting
The next meeting will be on Thursday 4th of
April 2013 ( deciding on Ko )where we could be in the Qtr Finals of the Europa League so either way we will meet up for the meeting and watch the game.

Once again thanks to the 9 members that attended this month’s meeting. Since the last instalment we have attended a number of games: more recently the away day at Swansea with Somerset Spurs which 15 of us attended. Thanks to Kev Payne for driving up to Bridgewater. We had 2 buses go up to the Everton game where Lisa and Kev Payne drove up (forget F1 – the drivers title is hotting up!)

The fantasy football is steaming along with possibly 3 potential winners…..

Hopefully also in the summer the club will staging a little knockabout at Chumleigh golf course. Bandits , shankers, all welcome – watch this space (if it ever stops raining)…
There will be no supporters club tournament in May (surprise surprise). The excuse was so poor I can’t even begin to tell you! Something to do with the team involved in the UEFA cup?????

South London ,N.Devon ,Surrey now Reading exile fellow Spurs fan Andy Ford was on hand after the Fulham game to give Steffen Freund spurs asst, a lift to Heathrow to return to the Fatherland, only 35 miles out of his way but hey not everyday that happens eh!.NICE ONE.

Charity Bike Ride
Clint `Wiggers ` Rance founder member of this
Club will be cycling from London to Paris next
Year doing 340 miles in 4 Days for a great charity
in aid of Action Medical Research,saving the lives

The club has decided to present a trophy to Ledley
King upon his retirement with hopefully some of
our members present to give this great man
acknowledgement of his time with Spurs..Even if
THFC don’t allow us to present it to him we will
still go ahead with the idea…Steve Bennett is
looking in to Dartington Crystal making the
Trophy.
